| Licensing LiveWire
LiveWire
will not run without some form of licensing installed. There are 3 types of
licensing currently available:
Unlicensed
versions of LiveWire will start up with the following dialog:

Trial License Installation
-
Start LiveWire
-
Press
the <Generate> button to generate a trial license request file.

The
following “Save As” dialog box will pop up giving you the option of where to
save the file.
You
may save the file anywhere, for this demonstration we will save it to the A: drive.

You
must now exit LiveWire and go to step 3.
- Send
the “request.txt” file to licensing@zsystems.ca
The
licensing “request.txt” file will be processed and a “trial.txt” file
will be send back to you.
For
this demonstration we will save this file to the A: drive
- From
the License Manager dialog, under Install Trial License, press the open folder icon to
search for the “trial.txt” file sent to you by Z Systems.

Find where you have saved the
"trial.txt" file and select it. The input field should now indicate where you have
located the "trial.txt" file.

- Press the
<Install>button

The
following “confirmation” dialog will appear.

- Now,
restart LiveWire. The program will start up and you can begin using LiveWire.
Single
and Multi User Licenses
License Manager
Installation
Before
installing a SUL or a MUL, a License Manager must be installed.
- Install
the License Manager and USB lock for every Single User Licensed computer.
or
- Install
the License Manager and USB lock on ONE network computer for Multi User Licenses.
To install the License
Manager, locate the LM Install folder on the LiveWire installation disk and
run the "setup.exe" program. If you do not have an
installation disk please contact support@zsystems.ca
Single and Multi User License
Installation
- Install
the USB lock that was either included with LiveWire or sent to you by mail.
- Start
LiveWire.
- Open
to the License Manager dialog box.
Note
1: This dialog will come up immediately on unlicensed versions of LiveWire.
Note
2: For trial licensed copies of LiveWire the Edit menu can access this dialog.


- From the
License Manager dialog,
under Single/Multi User License, press the open folder icon to search for the
“license.txt” file that was either included with your LiveWire package or
sent to you.

- Press the
<Install> button.

The following
“confirmation” dialog will appear.

- Point
LiveWire to the License Manager Host computer and port #.

Note
1: This should be <localhost 2053> if the License Manager is on this
computer.

2: If the License Manager is on machine XXX then this should be <XXX 2053>.
- Now, restart
LiveWire. The
program will start up and you can begin using LiveWire.
Running LiveWire with a
Network License
A
License is not required on a remote computer running LiveWire. LiveWire will
acquire permission to run from a centralized Licensing computer as long as the
following parameter is set. This does not apply to Trial Licenses, only for
Single and Multi User Licenses.
- Point
LiveWire to the License Manager Host computer and port #.

Note
1: This should be <localhost 2053> if the License Manager is on this
computer.

2: If the License Manager is on machine XXX then this should be <XXX 2053>.
